Myths and Legends

Socialist paradise North Korea explodes a hydrogen bomb and puts the shits up the ‘free’ world.  Socialist Germany imports a million muslim migrants and immediately suffers an explosion of sex-crime and harassment. The socialist experiment of the European Union is busy re-erecting borders after years of losing control and will now have to rely entirely on the nationalists it hates so much to step in where the police fear to tread. And here in what is left of Britain, socialist hero, Jeremy Corbyn, demonstrates how things would be run if he were in charge of the country. In charge of the country? He’s not even in charge of his embattled rump of a party.

It’s a time for leadership and we are seeing precious little of it anywhere in the world. Obama weeps when he uses his executive power to try and bring about more gun legislation and as a result sales of weapons have soared. Egalitarian, caring socialism helped give Iran the means to develop their own bomb and everybody saw the error in this except those involved in delivering the gift. All over the civilised world, the socialist ‘progressives’ are intent on halting progress by instilling guilt and fear and enforcing a programme of supposed human rights and equalities, blind to the clear reality that both are fictions; humans exist on many different levels which few could objectively call equal.

And this, of course, is the curse of socialism – blind to the animal human condition yet utterly wedded to the notion that compulsion, by force if necessary, will bring about Utopia. Make a thing illegal – such as racism, sexism, binary gender recognition, etc – and pursue anybody who transgresses the web of social laws they don’t even know exist. But as everybody knows, the law doesn’t deter criminals; it may provide a mechanism for punishment, but generally the deterrence only works on those predisposed to behave. In the meantime the human rights arm of socialist thinking works to prevent real criminals from being properly sanctioned. In brief, criminalise everybody, but give the real bad guys the mechanism to escape justice.

Against this background of certainty, the willing suspension of belief in true human nature, the majority of the population are cast as one collective Cassandra; we can see the future, but our warnings are cursed never to be heeded. We watched, open-mouthed, as Europe’s gates were opened to the barbarian hordes and now we watch in horror as the barbarians rape and pillage and seize control. And even now, a whole continent of New Age Neros is furiously fiddling away, legislating by the firelight of civilisation burning; bending over backwards to make it even easier for marauding islam to take us up the arse.

And then they wonder from whence came the rise of the right? Like Oedipus, do what they may, the progressives can never grasp the central theme of Sophocles’ age-old drama; that human nature is flawed and the world is an unforgiving place. That no matter how hard they try to avoid the inevitable, base human instinct will win through every time. The Greeks knew this two and a half thousand years ago. They wrote it all down and nothing has changed since. We are who we are and the sooner we accept that we can’t fix the human race the sooner we can get on and tackle what’s real and forget about the myths.

Hard Boiled

Jeremy Corbyn’s ‘new politics’ has hardly stood the test of time. A long-time rebel, he ascended to the leadership in the full knowledge that his views were not that of the majority of the Parliamentary Labour Party and said he welcomed opinions divergent from his own. Since then he has lost his temper on a number of occasions, fomented anger and disorder when he wanted to unify and now he has sacked Michael Dugher whose chief sin was disagreeing with his leader while still supporting him. Also gone is Pat McFadden (who?) again for disagreeing with the glorious leader.

Usually re-shuffles are over and done in as brief a time as possible, having been largely leaked to the press beforehand, but in this – the team-picking equivalent of watching paint dry – he has revealed himself to be a dithering diamond of the first water. The biggest dither was ‘what to do with Benn?’ And then there is the apparent problem with Corbyn and women. Abbott must surely be bad for party unity with her car crash media career and Emily Thornberry in defence? Her contempt for the white working class, who form the backbone of the armed forces, was amply demonstrated during the ‘white van man’ episode at the last election.

To be fair, Corbyn has a motley crew to choose from, his party briefing against him, threatening resignations if he makes the wrong moves and openly doing exactly what he used to do. But the main problem for JC must surely be the public perception of his ability to actually lead his party. What if he had to make a snap decision? To go to war, say, or to come out in support of this regime or that? He has form backing known antagonists of the west. We know he wouldn’t initiate the nuclear option but what about almost anything else?

I imagine Corbyn as the protagonist in a long-running 1970s advert for eggs: In a dowdy seaside guest house the proprietor asks, snappily, “How d’yer want yer eggs, fried or boiled?” Jeremy then lapses into a daydream about all the wondrous ways eggs could be prepared. In my version he stares at the eggs on the kitchen counter for several minutes before saying “Without that monstrous symbol of empire stamped on it!” The little lion was of course the Egg Marketing Board’s symbol to back UK producers and promote egg sales. The board was dismantled – I imagine much to JC’s satisfaction in 1971.

Yes, I can imagine Corbyn daydreaming about eggs, empire and all the ways in which he could replace freedom with enforced equality under state socialism, but could he actually run the country in the first place? Does he even believe in a British national identity? Much of what counts as civilisation around the world today owes a debt to that empire of yesterday that he so despises and a large proportion of traditional Labour voters come from a tradition that despises the ‘progressive’ arm of the left wing. If JC can’t even command the loyalty of the PLP what chance has he of carrying the country with him?

A lion on an egg, you say?
It's my egg, mate. If you want it, come and get it.

If the Labour Party want to genuinely offer an alternative government in 2020 (the very thought!) or at least position them as a credible opposition in the meantime, something has to give. Traditionally loyal to their leaders, at least in terms of not sacking them, no matter how poor they are, a leadership challenge may not be their preferred choice of direction. So, unless they want to sink beyond hope, Labour's little lions are going to have to go to work on this egg.

Beyond Belief

Last night, on the drive home, I listened to the BBC’s faith-based programme Beyond Belief. In true religious fashion they undertook an exploration of ‘which made-up belief is best’, as they generally do. Yesterday it was psychotherapy versus religion. Both begin with  presumption of the fundamental fallibility of humankind – that is a starting point with which it hard to disagree – but both then proceeded to pretend they have the answers. Religion seeks to make sense of the universe and psychotherapy makes the universe all about you. Show me anybody who has been truly cured by either. Both are in the membership-for-life business, which is ironic as the healed immediately stop taking part in either treatment.

The one thing we all have in common is that we never asked to be born. Tall, handsome, athletic and intelligent, or the opposite of all those things, we are what we are and it is nobody’s job but ours to make the most of it. The majority – although I believe that majority is more slender by the year – get that and go on to live the best life they can manage, but there is a slowly expanding minority seeking reasons why it is up to others to subsidise and enhance their meagre potential. Of course, a decent society looks after those who can’t look after themselves; it’s those who won’t, or don’t that need ‘picturising’.

It can’t be a right to have a living provided for entirely by the efforts of others, yet still have a vote to decide how our society is ordered, unless your inability to contribute is actually beyond your control. And it can’t be right that while the majority pick themselves up after hardship and as the song has it, dust themselves down and start all over again, those who never take responsibility just look for another excuse. Obese, sad, drunk, lazy... none of these conditions are incurable and although you may need some support, the solution for all of them is within our own hands.

No, you don’t ‘have an addictive personality’. The food and booze and fags and dope didn’t accidentally trip up and fall into your open orifices. But how full is western media with this message today: “it’s not your fault, it’s beyond your control... society is to blame”? Far too many people expect not just a free ride but to be given a bunk back up whenever they have fallen off the wagon. Pissed, broke, fat or just plain stupid, the cure for most ills is abstention, as prescribed by society of old, much as the cure for therapy is self-awareness and a bit of common sense.

A doctor advises...

Oliver Letwin was not only right about the Bridgwater Farm riots, he was right about the prospects for underclass as well. One of the biggest causes of poor people is, of course, poor people and the same applies to the rich. As it happens the rich tend to reproduce less frequently and so the balance tips ever in their favour. As if to drive home that point, today is Fat Cat Tuesday, the day of the year on which the CEOs of FTSE 100 companies have generally earned as much this year as you will do by the end of next December. Envy will get you nowhere unless you turn that envy into ambition. And if you haven’t got it for yourself, think about those kids you have, or are going to have, who never asked to be born.

The time to choose...

Well, there are twenty varieties of shit going on out there in the big, wide world; it’s a scary place. On the one hand we have the latest ISIS execution video and Iran standing up to Saudi, with the potential to unleash global holy war, with proper weapons. On the other we have the leftist media in the USA and Europe going batshit mental over the Oregon siege, desperate to equate a dozen guys holed up in a non-violent occupation of a government building as equivalent to documented beheadings, burning, crucifixions, hangings and rapid descent from tall buildings. See? - they say - white men are just as bad!

Just what is going wrong out there? What makes otherwise intelligent (always a subjective assessment) people turn on their own? Some of your young (fuck-all to do with me, I’ve never spawned) are actively engaged in promoting the end of the white race and will endure any amount of cognitive dissonance to bring it about. How they must hate their despicable hard-working, thrifty, decent and responsible parents. I ask again, what has to happen to your mind to turn against the culture that created you and vocally support any cause, however deranged, that threatens to destroy it?

Less overtly lethal is our dangerous liaison with Europe’s unelected ruling elite, although many will die as a result of the EU’s self-inflicted cultural suicide. At the heart of the project is a desire to end nation states and create the multicultural caliphate – islam WILL dominate unless it is stopped and the only ‘multicultural’ option for white Europids will be to convert or die, quite possibly before our normal expiry date. Naturally, continued subjugation by Brussels is the preferred option for our deranged, self-loathing ‘progressives’.

Europe is trouble and the EU is trouble formalised and enforced. I have seen nothing in our uneasy forty-year dalliance to suggest that remaining in the wretched consortium will ever be anything but uncomfortable for us. We are one among many, with rules befitting interlocking, borderless, demoralised administrations, not a free-thinking independent island with its own identity. Keir Starmer has now waded in to say leaving is dangerous; yet another voice from the ever duplicitous New Labour con team which makes me ask why. No matter the rhetoric from Westminster the ‘remain’ camp wants the same outcome as all those unpatriotic, unwashed, idle, rent-seeking, radically vegan, hippy, socialist, eco-fascist, islamophile, hunt saboteurs – they want to embrace mediocrity and all it brings.

Fight back. Outside the EU we can not only survive but thrive and on our own terms. We can build vacuum cleaners, kettles and other appliances with enough power to actually do the job. We could decide our own energy policy and rebuild our national grid within the budget we have and not by giving billions to overseas cartels to erect unreliable wind farms. We could decide how to deal with flood prevention and flood defences unhindered by diktat from strangers. Our sea anglers could legally catch and take as many bass as they wish. Hell, we could even sell bent bananas if we so wished, or buy cheap garlic from China. Or - and this is radical - decide who enters our country.

Illegal veg in mass protest at underground market...

The EU produces new directives, regulations, edicts, and actual laws every day, sometimes by the score and often with little opportunity for debate. In the past we had so-called butter mountains and wine lakes as a result. Farmers are paid for simply existing, while others are unable to allow the market to guide their production. EU ‘scientists’ recently claimed there was no proof drinking water helped with dehydration. Our own legislature is perfectly capable of dreaming up legislation which costs a fortune and achieves nothing, but at least we could have a debate about it in Parliament. The time is coming to pick sides. I have always known which side is the right side, do you?

Sand Castles

In popular folklore a man trying to fix a wobbly table by chopping a chunk off one leg at a time invariably ends up with a very low table. Whatever Frank Spencer touches turns from crap into catastrophe in a horribly predictable fashion. And all attempts to understand, explain, reform, aid or punish the Middle East slide inexorably into war. Big wars, little wars,  rumbling conflicts, the low growl of diplomatic ‘initiatives’... all end up the same way. So as all sane voices are screaming “Stop dealing with them!” the witless powers that be align themselves with one or other of the many sides of this polygon of pariahs.

Never far from the news, islam returns once again to centre stage and the big question is Saudi or Iran? Sunni or Shia? And does the rest of the world really care about their battle of ideologies? So much for the koran being the literal word of god. As today’s picture illustrates, the country that currently heads up the UN Human Rights Council executed forty-seven Shia muslims including ‘talismanic’ cleric Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr  yesterday. The Daily Telegraph reports: “Describing the executions as acts of “mercy” to prisoners who might have committed crimes on their release, Saudi Arabia's leading cleric, Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdulaziz Al Sheikh, said they were carried out in line with Islamic law and the need to safeguard the kingdom's security.”

Take away the oil and what do we have across the entire region? Sand. Sand and ferocious, merciless sunshine and precious little else apart from small knots of bewildered Bedouin trying to find water and shade. Without the oil the region is powerless. With it, it is unstable as western meddling supplants one tyrant with another, backs one regime against the rest. Oh and we as good as gave Iran a nuclear bomb to use with impunity. Maybe it’s just me but giving the doomsday capability to a power dominated by a religion that seems to care more for death than life seems just a tiny bit irresponsible. But hey, that’s been our record in trying to come to terms with islam.

The weird thing is that no matter how many times they tell us that the final goal of mohammedanism is to convert or kill the entire population of the world, we just stick our fingers in our ears and pretend we must have misheard. I say ‘we’ as if the electorates of the so-called ‘free’ world have any say in the matter. Think about the oil, they say, it’s all about precious oil. But times move on and it turns out there’s a lot more oil than we thought. Right now there is a glut of the stuff and an oversupply of any commodity reduces its unit value.

Hold still. This is for allah!
If this is what our 'friends' do..?

The other thing we have a glut of, reducing its worth to humanity by the day, by the atrocity, by everything it says and does, is islam itself. We’re not buying it any more. This seems the perfect opportunity to stir up the stinking camel pat of the Middle East with a shitty stick and get them flies buzzing; sort it out once and for all. Sunni or Shia? There’s only one way to settle this...
