Hate Crime?

No matter how much the crazed Caliph of Holyrood might insist it is so, there is no such thing as ‘hate crime’. Hate is a base emotion, and not worthy of a truly intelligent person, and is definitely an accelerant for certain types of criminal behaviour, but hate itself is not a crime. If hate were a crime then so too could love, joy, despair and misery be legislated against. Preposterous, you may think, but this idiot country is in danger of proscribing all of them.

Delight in seeing your own nation’s flag flying is already, it would appear, bordering on the criminal. But that’s patriotic pride, as opposed to the ‘new’ pride, which is a bonus point on your social acceptability score. You are expected to celebrate the joy of being abnormal, in an absolutely correct sense of the word, yet love of your own tribe is definitely a prosecutable offence if that tribe is white, and especially if it is white and male.

And what if you ‘hate’ Hitler? Is that a hate crime? Who gets to define what kind of antipathy is actionable and which is to be applauded? Loving Hitler is definitely going to see you in court at some stage, as will any mention of final solutions to intractable ethnic problems. Is a love for Hamas a hate crime… or a love crime? And while we’re on the subject, how’s that Labour kinder, gentler antisemitism going for you?

The way the nutters who run this asylum are leading, misery is set to be criminalised by the widespread abuse of the mental health excuse for not working. Now, some might say that the control of and promulgation of misery is already the business of government as it hounds and harries landlords, taxpayers and indeed anybody who makes a positive contribution to life in the UK. In contrast, those who contribute nothing and spend their lives with their begging bowls held out must not be miserable, by diktat.

It all springs from the nebulous and shape-shifting definitions of ‘human rights’, whereby the human rights of some are deemed more important than the human rights of others. If, for instance, you are a law-abiding taxpayer who goes the extra mile to put food on the plate and fire in the hearth you will be milked forever to provide what you have to those who never lift a finger. You don’t even need to belong to this country for your human rights to trump those of the indigenous.

Suddenly, after only, oh, half a century or so of being told all this, the morons posing as representatives of the population are beginning to point out the idiocy of ‘equity’ and ‘diversity’ and to question the wisdom of seeing everything through the lens of critical race theory and all the other crackpot dalliances of the simplistic Marxist children. Something must be done, they demand, seemingly unaware that the power is theirs to so do.

But it is all too late. (Maybe this is why they suddenly feel able to spout off their platitudes.) The damage has been done and the sheep have been groomed for the coming slaughter. Your emotions are no longer under your control but are legislated by the state. You will be happy, sad, triumphant, dismayed and disappointed when you are told to be. And woe betide those who have the wrong emotion at the wrong time, or for the wrong reasons.

The left has longed for a time when they could tell you that you were happy, and you would accept it. Or tell you to get angry and you would obey that command. At the drop of a hat, the gays march for Palestine; at the click of a finger, those made comfortable by cheap energy glue themselves to roads to end it all. "You will own nothing, and be happy." But for now, ladies and gentlemen, please turn your attention to the telescreens in readiness for the two-minute hate.

Totally Zuckered

It was nice, this morning, when I casually logged into my blog account, to find a trio of recent comments variously suggesting that they had heard I was back on Twitter, that they wished I was back on Twitter, and even that I may have been missed by the good folk on Twitter. A shame, then, that no matter how many times I have set up accounts on Twitter, the block bots quickly dob me in and shut me down. I had no idea before all of this that my views were so viciously ‘far-right’ as to require automatic censure.

Since the permanent suspension, however, I have discovered that Twitter really is a seething hive of nasty, vicious killer bees without which I am doing quite nicely, thank you. I refer, of course, to the virulent strain of hatred that is in the very blood of ‘be-kind’ leftists, whether they tweet, blog, or just smash up buildings and burn police cars whenever the mood takes them, which is whenever anybody disagrees with them. Only today I read about the Landry/Schmitt case against the Biden administration for trying to suppress free speech via social media, in direct contravention to the USA Constitution’s First Amendment rights. It has chilling echoes of China’s reported social credit regime.

Everywhere you look, the idiots are winning. Soon, your children will need to be taken from you at birth to avoid the toxic intervention of parental love and guidance. Instead, if the forever creeping remit of the state has its way, infants will be suckled in special baby farms where the correct attitudes and behaviours will be inculcated from the very start of their lives, in preparation for those attitudes and behaviours to be forever monitored and adjusted by edict from on high.

And who will get to decide what is correct? Why, second-rate, failed politicians such as Donald Tusk, now trying for high office in his native Poland on a platform of keeping out immigrants – oh yes, his principles are just as much for sale as any other notable EU types. Types such as Ursula Fond-o-Lying, the abject failure of an ex-defence minister in Germany, who will likely head up NATO in the near future, supported by that same Senile Joe Biden. It all rather stinks, doesn’t it?

But don’t worry, nature will out, and the natives will revolt; they know nothing else. Across Europe the precincts are burning because imposed political diktats have created societies so fractured that the only outcome possible is martial conflict. And no matter how far our mediocre leaders want to believe that we are all the same, the differences between us are all too apparent.

Meet the new boss...

Once those differences are noted it can be near impossible for them not to become dividing lines. And either side of those lines, opposing motivations appear; all competing for the same scarce resources. In 1984 Oceania is always at war with Eastasia, in the world of tomorrow, everybody will be on a permanent war footing with everybody else. Oh, and Twitter will have been buried by Zuckerberg.

Orwell that ends well

It is 70 years since Eric Arthur Blair’s death and the BBC has been marking it with an excellent series of radio essays, documentaries and dramatisations of his life. His massive contribution to political discourse can hardly be overstated, with many of the words and expressions he coined still in regular usage and his own pen name used to describe the worst excesses of totalitarianism. Newspeak, thought crime and doublethink are pressed into service every time somebody invokes the Orwellian dystopia that some see in the world today.

But his opus, 1984, a book which, despite its name being common currency for the intrusion of state into every facet of people’s lives, hasn’t been read or understood by anywhere near as many people as use its language, was not really the prophecy many lazily think it was. It was in fact, like all of his writing, commentary on what was actually happening, as he saw it. His telescreens weren’t futurology because television had been around for over a decade when he died, but if he was prophetic about anything the smart-spy in your pocket is a manifestation of his nightmare vision.

For all the warnings over extreme surveillance of citizens’ actions, sentiments and thoughts, those most engaged in ‘the resistance’, the young, are those most likely to carry the secret agents of IngSoc in their pockets. I use IngSoc as a cypher not for English Socialism, as in the book, but for big ‘S’ socialism generally. Because, wherever it has been attempted, small ‘s’ socialism soon becomes capital. S for socialism, S for state and when the state owns you, little good ever comes of it.

And it is little wonder that this always happens, given that socialism, in Marxist theory, is a mere transitional state between the overthrow of capitalism and the institution of full Communism. Orwell’s Animal Farm was a commentary on Stalin’s pursuit of exactly this goal and yet still the left refuse to see. Orwell was that rare breed, a leftie who opened his eyes and realised that the enemy was not ‘the right’. The enemy was/is totalitarianism from whatever source. He saw the Hitler/Stalin pact and realised that these supposed opposites were actually allies in the aim of bringing the people under control.

But what about the rise of the far right, the much-feared and vaunted evil which is said to be on the march across Europe? The terms left and right, politically, derive from the French Revolution where those loyal to the king sat on the right of the president of the National Assembly, while on the left were the revolutionaries; those who would wrest control from the monarchy. I see the logical extreme of rightism as the very opposite of the mobs of socialism, with all the power vested in one, divine-like entity, the king or queen.

Which means, in my book, that mass organised movements are necessarily of the left, of revolution of – in their eyes – progress away from the status quo. It stands for upheaval and it attracts ideologues. Whereas the right stands for tradition, small ‘c’ conservatism and stability and it attracts older, possibly wiser, certainly less volatile types. Those who are, perhaps, more satisfied with the society they have played a major hand in shaping to its present form, those with misty memories of the unformed thinking of their younger days.

George Orwell is watching you

The atomisation of society into more-finely defined identity groups plays into the grasping hands of both sides. The more you lot squabble amongst yourselves the more ‘they’ win and it is the left, almost universally, who spend the most time squabbling. This is one of the things that Orwell observed and one of the sources of his despair. He rejected the devotees of Marxism even as some of them would claim him for themselves. But his message, his thoughts, his warnings are for everybody. So, do yourself a favour and instead of forever accepting what others say he wrote, read the bloody book and work it out for yourselves.

Hard Labour

Following Channel Four’s audacious broadcast, so close to the general election of the 'docu-drama'  “UKIP: The First 100 Days” masquerading as credible prediction, I felt the urge to respond in kind. Unlike Channel Four I would like to make it clear that what follows is pure fiction... or is it?

Welcome to Britain 2045 and the 30-year rule finally allows historians access to the government archives. This is a special year because since the Labour government’s ascension to power in 2015 and the total news embargo imposed in late September of that year we finally have access to the few scattered reports that were not destroyed after the big news media seizure in September of that year. Until today, when electricity was finally restored after the US rescue of the remaining European states, it was unknown whether any record of those bleak years even existed. Few people still live who are able to reliably recall the early years of Labour’s reign and those who left the country soon had no contact with their former homeland. When the thirty-year wall of silence came down, these few snippets were rescued from the electronic rubble.

BBC News 16th May 2015: “After over a week of negotiations, the Labour Party announce that, as the party with the largest share of votes, but no overall majority, they have accepted a deal with Nicola Sturgeon’s Scottish National Party to share power. Prime Minister Ed Miliband has stated that this was ‘the right thing to do for hard-working families’ and he promised a return to prosperity in a more caring, one-nation, pre-distribution society. The first act of the coalition has been to double the NHS budget, scrap the so-called bedroom tax and restore every one of the pre-2010 welfare measures scaled back by the Conservatives. Despite assurances from Chancellor Balls that this would be paid for by a tax on banker’s bonuses the UK’s credit rating was downgraded to BB by Standard & Poor’s”

Extract from Andrew Neil interview with Ed Balls Sunday Politics 5th July 2015:
“AN: How much, Chancellor, has the bankers’ bonus tax actually raised?
EB: The real question, Andrew, is how are the most vulnerable in society being raised from the oppression they suffered under the Tori…”
AN: With respect, that isn’t what I asked you. Isn’t it true that since Labour came to power almost all the bankers have moved to France, along with their money?
EB: You have to ask yourself, “Does the ordinary working man feel better off?”
AN: Well, he doesn’t, does he? Because since the DWP came under military protection from the welfare rioters the benefits tap has been turned off.
EB: Oh come on, Andrew, you’re picking on one tiny aspect of our reforms.
AN: How does Prime Minister Sturgeon feel you’re doing? I hear rumours that, since the coup, the office of Chancellor of the Exchequer may be moved to Edinburgh and run by Alex Salmond.
EB: There is no truth whatsoever in…” [transcript ends]

Sky News 15th July 2015
“News just in that the Chancellor’s talks with the IMF have broken down in acrimonious circumstances after requests for a bail out for the UK were turned down. After the unsuccessful raids on English citizens’ bank accounts, where it transpired that most people had switched to a cash economy following the example of the ex-Chancellor Balls, the government were forced to go cap in hand to former allies to pay for their ambitious reforms programme. The mansions that were to be taxed have been simply abandoned and as most tradesmen have moved to Greece and Bulgaria to set up agrarian, ex-pat communities, it is likely that some of the iconic country houses of England may well fall into disrepair. As mobs of English poor prepare to march on Parliament at Holyrood there has been a build-up of troops on the Scottish border with its poorer cousin.”

BBC News Tuesday 4th August 2015: “The BBC has received reports that socialist forces have beenn moving steadily southwards, shutting down local radio stations and ransacking the offices of local newspapers. Transmission equipment has been seized along with…” [transcript abruptly ends with background sounds of raised voices and the smashing of glass]

The future is orange jumpsuits - the future is Labour...

The final transmission we are able to access is the following brief statement from the SBC, broadcast on Sunday 16th August: “Greetings comrades and good news. The chocolate ration is to be doubled from tomorrow…” Shortly afterwards, all communication from the People's Democratic Republic ceased.

Catch 'em younger...

As ever The Twitter supplies with me an inexhaustible source of merriment and material and yesterday was no exception. I innocently challenged a stubborn assertion that in the UK: “207 OAPs freeze to death every day.” It is my custom to challenge all manner of clumsy, blunt-edged, political weaponry and this one was a sitting duck. "Really?" I asked, "per day?" Over what period? If that’s over a year then 75,555 people a year dying from freezing in Britain is outrageous… especially in, say, August. The truth, as ever, will be more prosaic, especially as the poster later admitted – although not to me – that he’d quoted a weekly, not daily, figure in error.

But it doesn’t matter, does it? More old people tend to die in winter regardless of their politics and the cold itself is a known contributor, but only part of the story. 2010’s winter was the coldest for a long time, so it is obviously the fault of the vicious Tory cuts. That, my friends is the crux of the matter. A willingness to propagate unsubstantiated and vague facts that highlight cruelty, sleaze, impropriety or any other failing by those of the right is one of the left’s very favourite raisons d'ĂȘtre. The simple reality that some people favour a more self-reliant view of society will never bring about revolutions.

No, revolutions are a long game and the Milimob’s current electoral strategy appears to be to leave it to the next generation. Two recent accounts should fill us with a bit of new year foreboding. The first is a Daily Mail ‘olds’ story about primary school children and younger being branded as bigots. The kids’ taunts are standard playground stuff, learned at home, from social media and most of all, probably, from the playground itself. It’s funny, sometimes inventive and only hateful to the ears of people who have been taught to watch out for and report such things. These kinds of people, it goes without saying, predominantly sit on the left of politics. And what better time to lay the foundations of lifelong leftism than during those tender, impressionable years?

The other story, by coincidence, is about selecting teachers of the future and the suggestion that the seeds may be there at a very early age "Give me a child of seven,” said the Jesuit, “and I will show you the man." But I’m wondering whether the ‘racist’ kids are likely to be selected, or would the nomination more likely go to the sneaky pals who dob them in? How likely is it you will be mentored as a future shaper of children’s minds if you are on a state register for incorrect thoughts? When Orwell imagined his junior Thought Police shopping their parents to the party he missed a trick; why catch ‘em young when you can catch ‘em younger still?

Junior National Socialist
Tomorrow belongs to me

The party told its devotees that “War is peace, freedom is slavery, and ignorance is strength” the contradictions of doublethink easily circumnavigated by reducing language to black or white. With the correct application of educational programming critical thinking skills can be developed only in the minds of future strategists. The rest need only follow the party line and simply parrot the rehearsed scriptures at the daily Tory Two-Minute Hate. Two brain-cells good, four brain-cells bad?

Tweet Like a Lefty

There is a meme on Twitter under the hashtag #tweetlikealefty (or sometimes #leftylogic) in which people distil into less than 140 characters the essence, nay the very quintessence of left-wing lunacy of the two plus two equals five variety. For the left, belief is far more important than observable truth and anyway, if you tell yourself it is true it becomes the truth, doesn't it? The political equivalent of closing your eyes tight and wishing very hard.

To give you a flavour of how the delusions of the left are seen by people with a sense of humour – something denied the hard left, unless they are cracking Thatcher jokes - here are a few I stole from my screen this morning:

If in doubt, ban it, delete it, censor it.

If you're winning the argument and backing your opinion up with hard facts, I can shout racist and then I win.

I support freedom of speech, but some opinions shouldn’t be tolerated in our society.

Tax TaxTax Tax Tax Tax Tax Tax Tax Tax Tax Tax Tax Tax Tax Tax Tax Tax Tax Tax Tax Tax Tax Tax Tax Tax Tax Tax Tax Tax Tax!

We will stand up for the working man, by forcibly taking his wages to fund those who can't be bothered.

Private schools should be abolished; as soon as my children have finished theirs.

You get the idea. My contribution to the cause this morning was, “Your opinion is that of a closed mind. My intransigence despite the facts is debate.”

I have firmly held views, why shouldn't I? After all, I've been around for a while now. And in that time, in the face of evidence, I have been persuaded to alter some of them and discard others. I like to believe – as we all do - that my opinions are the result of experience, enquiry and examination and are therefore pragmatic and not sentimental. But I have seen over the years how leaders have been able to subvert human belief by that simple act of propaganda - repetition. Say a palpable untruth often enough and it becomes dull and inoffensive. Carry on saying it and you create a grudging acceptance that it may be a valid point of view and then it is but one small step to setting it in stone as an immutable truth.

A new buzzword for the bewildered white minority is the Arabic word “Taqiyya” which describes a systematic concealing of the truth of Islam, said to have originated to avoid persecution but nevertheless now meant in a pejorative sense. In the nineteen eighties I encountered lies every day in Libya, or rather, broken promises. “Mumkin bukra inshallah” was a casual lie concealing the real truth which was, “Maybe tomorrow if I remember and if I can be bothered.”

It is of course not confined to the Arab world.  Spain has its “mañana” and Cornwall has its “dreckly” but both come served with a knowing twinkle and sense of self-deprecation and certainly with no malice aforethought. Taqiyya is a tad more sinister and the Left has its very own form of taqiyya which is to adopt a stance and hold firmly to it regardless of the facts, or of anybody else’s freedom of speech, then in the face of unassailable logical defeat to simply ignore the argument and resort to name-calling.

You will learn to love Big Brother

If you don’t believe what they believe you are wrong. If you don't believe what they believe you are a kaffir. And yes, I use the anglicised version of that Arabic word precisely because some find it offensive. I guess that makes me a racist.

NewMaths

Did I miss the memo saying this month is opposites month?

David Cameron takes credit for negotiating a cut in the EU budget, which results in the UK’s contribution actually increasing. The government reduces the absurdly generous subsidies for wind power, which causes a rush in applications and thus yet more bird-choppers are approved and the cost of everybody’s fuel bills goes inexorably upward. And the one hundred and fifty-three people who might possibly benefit from so-called gay marriage now constitute a majority. I'm confused; everything seems to be the wrong way round.

Another divisive example of Britain’s political hall of distorting mirrors is the eternal problem of the NHS. As more and more money is poured into the bottomless pit of healthcare, it has become clearer after the Stafford hospital scandal that the more we spend the worse it gets. Yet the Tories who say they desperately want to make it both better serve patients and be more affordable are derided as monsters whilst Labour under whose guardianship it become a self-serving, totalitarian state of its own are somehow clinging to the moral high ground.

These anomalies seem absurd until you appreciate that we are truly moving with the times and using progressive new algorithms. The Met Office seemed to adopt the policy years ago; on the basis that people don’t really listen anyway the weather forecast has to be carefully parsed for its true meaning. Thus predicted snow translates as wet, sunny becomes overcast and ‘a bit breezy’ translates into hurricanes across the south.

Under Ingsoc the Ministry of Truth does its level best to keep us on the right track and employs the dumbed-down politics of tribal loyalty to achieve those aims. Thus, whatever you know to be true, any attempt to reform the biggest healthcare system on the planet is a cue to boo the nasty Tories, any effort to curb the excessive salaries of self-appointed local authority officials is, yes, a cue to boo the nasty Tories and a suggestion we live within our means and actually earn that living is an attack on the very fabric of our sacred Welfare State.

To surrender your mind to that state is, of course, the whole aim of Ingsoc here on Airstrip One and just as with Newspeak, Newmaths is the key. Newmaths recognises the continuum theory of numbers, that all numbers exist on a wheel; you travel far enough in one direction and eventually you return to the where you started: 1, 2, 3, 4... 1. So, vote Labour, you get Socialism, yet vote Conservatism and what do you get? An almost identical Socialism. A vote for the LibDems is, of course, a ticket to Room 101 for re-education where you will be taught, as Winston Smith was, that two plus two equals five; you don’t just say it, you really see it.

So there is no such thing as left and right in UK politics, yet Labour activists manage to refer to policies and people as being on the extreme right, apparently unaware that the further right you go, the more left you become. Right plus further right equals Fascism; a perfect example of extreme left-wing ideology. Newmaths; with work, it will set you free. Double the chocolate ration, comrades, means half the chocolate ration but although you can see less chocolate you truly believe you've won. And if we say it's beef on the packet it's beef in the packet.

More spending = less spending. Getting to grips with the deficit = a bigger deficit. Being tough on benefits = more spending on welfare. When I was at school we did Chinese Maths. I think the politicians learned it too - they can only do takeaways.

1984

If you write the letters 1, 9, 8 and 4 in a cartoonish script, then rearrange them and look at them upside down in a different sequence, squinting through the bottom of a beer glass, you see the world in a very different way.

In George Orwell’s [some say] prophetic novel, Winston Smith works as a records clerk in the Ministry of Truth, rewriting history to match the constantly changing current party line and obliterating anything which contradicts the will of the omnipotent government.

These days there are Winstons in every field – politics, religion, business, even the sciences – people whose job it is to deny the facts, distort the truth and spin their way into and out of the history books. Historians like A. J. P. Taylor, Richard Starkey, Niall Ferguson, et al, purport to get to the truth, but it’s not so long ago that David Irving was jailed for holocaust denial. So who can you trust?

So busy are the Winstons it sometimes seems as if the majority of the world’s population are lab rats in a huge experiment to find out just how far human credibility can be stretched. The Olympic conspiracy is bizarre and far-fetched, but some people, it seems, are determined to believe almost anything.

On Europe alone, there are regular outrageous claims to be swallowed whole; every day a new distraction and so many bail-outs that they become commonplace and unremarkable. How many crisis summits now? How many puppet administrations? How many times have we had six days to save the Euro? In the European parliament, Nigel Farage is the only little boy who sees the Emperor’s dangling bollocks, but nobody listens to him.

It seems impossible to spin the story of the Muslim horse rapist in any postive way, but Winston’s working on it and will no doubt come up with an Allah-approved version. It seems no story is so outlandish it can't be excused or 'differently explained'. But surely, even Winston Smith himself would have his work cut out to rewrite Tony Blair’s history to make it palatable and pave the way for his return to British politics? No, you say, never! And yet heeeeeere's Tony!

Wenlock and Mandeville plot New World Order

If you write the letters 1, 9, 8 and 4 in a cartoonish script and different sequence they look like the Olympic mascots spelling out 1489 - the year of the sinister Treaty of Medina del Campo - you want a conspiracy theory? I'll give you a conspiracy theory!
